Zoom has been a valuable resources for our clubs during the last couple years. While some clubs have returned to in-person only meetings, others continue online and yet others are conducting hybrid meetings. Knowing how to use Zoom effectively will continue to be important to those clubs. This page provides tips and links to resources that may prove useful to those clubs still using Zoom.

Zoom Basics

HOST

  • Sets up meeting

  • Sends meeting link to participants

  • Considers pre-registration

  • Sends RSVPs to Moderator

  • Sets up "Host Only" screen share

  • Knows how to share screen

  • Makes Moderator Co-Host

  • Dresses as they would for an in-person meeting

MODERATOR

  • Admits participants from Waiting Room

  • Can mute all participants

  • Can stop video of all participants

  • Knows how to remove a participant from meeting

  • Knows how to lock/unlock a meeting

  • Monitors chat

  • Shuts down any "side-bar" conversations in chat

  • Dresses as they would for an in-person meeting

PARTICIPANT

  • Is aware of their lighting

  • Is aware of their sound - no feedback

  • Mutes when not speaking

  • Is aware of background and background distractions

  • Makes good use of their "space"

  • Is aware of their camera angle

  • Has no "side-bar" chats during the meetiing

  • Dresses as they would for an in-person meeting
