I am not exaggerating when I say that, since joining my fun-loving club in December of 2021, I have become a more open, more daring, more engaged person.  While I am retired so no longer in a profession, the supportive atmosphere of the club has given me  a new-found confidence in social and volunteer situations.  Had I joined early on while working as an Occupational Therapist, I know I would have had more enjoyment in general  and gone farther in my profession.

After being in my club for only six months, I was elected as Secretary. I enjoy writing up playful (yet accurate!) minutes of both the club and executive officer meetings; often taking on the role of Quiz Master during a meeting since I have been keeping close track of the proceedings. Last week I won our Division Humorous Speech Contest, something that would never have happened without the support and valuable feedback I received during our meetings. Knowing that my fellow club members are eager to see me succeed and willing to help me improve even more, is giving me the confidence needed to participate in the next round: the District 45 contest.
